This confuses the machine that dialled the call and it kicks your number out of their system. Gosh, what a shame not to have your name in their system any longer!!! </p> <p>(3) When you get those 'pre-approved' letters in the mail for everything from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw away the return envelope. </p> <p>Most of these come with postage-prepaid return envelopes, right?<br>It costs them more than the regular postage 'IF' and when they are returned. It costs them nothing if you throw them away! In that case, why not get rid of some of your other junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-prepaid return envelopes. </p> <p>Send an advert for your local chimney sweeper to American Express... they might need one! <br>Send a pizza coupon to HSBC... in case their canteen packs up. You get the idea. <br>If you didn't get anything else that day, then just send them back their blank application form... after all, it is their form! </p> <p>If you want to remain anonymous, just make sure your name isn't on anything you return. </p> <p>You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to just to keep them guessing! It still costs them, and it is their envelope after all… you are just returning it!!!! </p> <p>The banks and credit card companies are currently getting a lot of their own junk back in the post, but folks....we need to OVERWHELM them, in order to stop them.</p> <p>Let's let them know what it's like to get lots of junk mail, and best of all they're paying for it...Twice! </p> <p>Let's help keep Royal Mail busy. Since the Royal Mail is saying that e-mail is cutting into their business profits, let's help them so they will not need to increase postage costs again.. I feel sorry for the average Afghani who wants peace and for the turmoil to disappear.   IT wont happen.</span></p> <p> <small> <a href="http://rawlife.blog.co.uk/2009/11/03/hamid-karzai-afghanistan-7301596/#comments">Comments</a> </small> </p>tag:rawlife.blog.co.uk,2009-10-30:/2009/10/30/cannabis-and-cocaine-the-furore-7271922/RobertRaw2009-10-30T02:31:29+01:002009-10-30T02:40:16+01:00 <p>Drugs have been with us since time began except of course it wasnt a crime then to have it.</p> <p>Cocaine for instance was the choice of the rich and well shod and was trendy to have in all the parties of the the 1930's all to the way up to the 1950's before it became a crime to possess it.  Plenty of songs from those days were littered with reference to it......listen to that old ditty  ' Lets face the Music and Dance'  etc with Fred Astaire  dancing his legs all over the place and you will see what I mean.   It didn't t cause much harm and no one died from it.   Of course it was not available for the common man in the street until the late 60's and then laws were introduced to control the 'rabble'  from indulging and bringing it into disrepute.  The dealer was born.      Its only recently that Dentists have stopped giving you an injection of it, using Cocaine as an anaesthetic.<br>Most analgesics you buy from the chemists still have a smattering of Cocaine in it.......not enough to make you high..but it does sometimes work with that headache you want to get rid of. For instance...Lidocaine..Novocaine etc.    Most problems with this drug is not the drug itself  but the greed of the dealer who 'cuts' it with substances that make it a lethal combination. Pure Cocaine  (NOT Crack ! Which IS harmful)  is the only drug that replaces all the vitamins you need before leaving your system.</p> <p>Cannabis or otherwise called hashish, Ganja,Marijuana, draw, blow weed,grass, dope is freely available on most streets in the UK and if you want it ..you can get it.   A  man was once prescribed Cannabis by a doctor  for him ' to relieve the paranoia that overcame him  at the thought of being busted for possession of illegal dope' !   IT can be eaten in a cake, drunk as a tea or the most popular is to smoke it.   In Holland, where they have a far more adult response to its demand, there are 'Brown ' Cafes where you can choose the strength of the type you want and can sit down and smoke it without fear of being arrested and have a criminal record as in the UK.   Most cannabis in the UK comes from the African Continent and also from Jamaica and there are a lot of  'home grown'  products  on the street now. <br>Due to the effects of the drug, which is longer lasting and more 'controlling' of feelings than 'Coke'.....it is not a good idea to get in that car and drive!    In a percentage of resistant individuals cannabis has no effect on them at all, some feel nausea and some cant control their bladder.<br>Coleridge and  De Quincey werent above sampling a pellet of  hashish in their day, however the popularity of the drug soared in the early 70's  with the hippy trail and the songs of the time advocating its exhilarating effects.<br>The 'Legalise cannabis campaign' traces the origins of British control back to 1912..........so this is not a new demand !</p> <p>However a lot of time, expense, manpower is wasted by the Police in its endeavour to 'hold up' the Law.<br>Last week, two teams of 12  Police raided two houses in the early hours..battering down the doors on both houses.......and what for ?  £5 worth of cannabis resin!</p> <p>So why all the excitement ?  Do these two drugs really warrant the extreme reputation and repulsion that accompanies every mention of it ?   The short answer is that what applies to every drug........it is not the potency or the toxicity but the measure of economic, political and social pressures for or against it.</p> <p>In my own opinion drugs should be legalised and controlled by the Government and sold through Government outlets only to anyone over 21 and legally.  Its their choice...and the death of the dealer will also lessen the deaths of those who were served up lethal concoctions by them in their greed to make more profit.  The Police resources would be  able to deal with the rising violent crime that we endure on our streets at night rather than waste time on something that will never ever be able to be controlled by punishing those that indulge and get caught. I wonder how many others thought that too ? Here was a much more polished and careful with his answers Griffin that appeared to be a changed man. Like all politicians, he has also tailored his answers to what may bring him some votes from a wider threshhold, and he appeared to have sold out his former alarmist viewpoints and seemed to be towing a more agreeable one.</p> <p><strong>The BNP</strong> is still a loathsome party but to see someone holding his own , being attacked by all the other panellists, the presenter, and a mainly ethnic Minority audience ( Naughty BBC) will almost certainly bring him some more fans and crucially more votes.</p> <p><strong>Instead of</strong> following the usual format, Question Time devoted 90% of the programme to attacking Griffin which I found rather boring and tedious and when they eventually got onto another topic - about Stephen Gateleys death and the reporting thereafter, it got a little more interesting. However even that was hijacked by militant gays who tried to quash and shout down anything they didnt agree with.<br>I would have preferred the usual format of Question Time as it would have brought out what Griffin really thought about current events rather than the tailored racism rants that emanated.</p> <p><strong>Isnt it</strong> amazing how Politicians change after they have been elected ? The Programme just after Question Time had the revolting Dianne Abbot- a prime example of just how status and money corrupts. Before she was elected , she used to shout about private schools and that they should be abolished etc ...and what does she do once she was elected ? I was a Catholic ( Now an atheist) and went to a Catholic School in Sheffield run by Nuns. Because my skin was a little browner than most as I had been in India with a hot sun, and a slightly tainted accent, I was a johnny Foreigner to the Nuns and was treated as such.<br> I remember how, with some glee on the nuns faces, how I was singled out for anything that happened that didnt agree with them, even if I was in another room at the time. How happy they were when they admonished me for someone elses crime and made me stand up on the desk with my short pants on and then whipped me with their thick belts , just behind the knee. They were one or two nuns who were nice, especially sister Cecilia, but most of them were cruel, wanton and enjoyed any form of physical punishment.</p> <p>My experience with nuns has left me with complete distrust for these species who, like priests, are spongers of God in my eye. When have you seen a poor priest in England? My local chap across the road has a house and a new car every year, this years model is a brand new Audi, parked in his detached 4 bedroomed house. He doesnt pay for anything. Because the Church is a very rich employer. In fact the richest Employer in the land. The Catholic Church is the richest in the World.....after all they have trillions of taken in fools, donating money on a daily basis to 'cleanse' their souls. Money buys anything! </p> <p>Talking to first hand individuals who came into contact with Mother Teresa, they have no good things to say about her. She was very cruel, turned on the charm if cameras were in sight, and was a formidable money grabber. Out of hours she turned anyone in trouble away from her doors and wouldnt help them, she re-used needles countless number of times on different patients and I am sure a lot died of diseases she gave them by being this mean, despite having millions in the bank.<br> And when she was ill she went to the best clinics in Switzerland to heal herself, all on the donations given by well meaning kind hearted benefactors.</p> <p>Although I never met her, one cant ignore all the proof circulating about her, there is no flames without a formidable fire. I am sure she also did good as some carefully selected patients in her clinic benefitted, but it was very selective and if you didnt fit in with her ideals, you were out.</p> <p>In this day and age, shouldnt we give up this ridiculous idea of sainthood ? Its something that was invented by man to increase the profitability from easily taken in fools and the extremely gullible.</p> <p>Leave the woman in peace now, she is dead and thats that and if Albania want her body back, let them have it. She was not an Indian and if anything took full advantage of her foreign status to elevate herself beyond what she could have in her native country.</p> <p>Perhaps all the millions that were donated can now be used to bring the clinic to a modern upto date one and actually take all that come there and not selectively.</p> <p>I know what I have written wont appeal to a lot of people, however it is based on my own experiences and viewpoints and I dont want to offend the good people who need religion and the beliefs it teaches you, which in some instances are excellent. I received a call from a 'representative' of BT, informing me that he was dis-connecting me because of an unpaid bill. He demanded payment immediately of £31.00, or it would be £ 118.00 to re-connect at a later date. The guy wasn't even fazed when I told him I was with <span class="yshortcuts">Virgin Media</span>, allegedly VM have to pay BT a percentage for line rental! I asked the guy's name - the very 'English' John Peacock with a very 'African' accent - & phone number - 0800 0800 152.</p> <p>Obviously the fella realized I wasn't believing his story, so offered to demonstrate that he was from BT. I asked how & he told me to hang up & try phoning someone - he would dis-connect my phone to prevent this. AND HE DID !! My phone was dead - no engaged tone, nothing - until he phoned me again.<br>Very pleased with hi mself, he asked if that was enough proof that he was with BT. I asked how the payment was to be made & he said credit card, there & then. I said that I didn't know how he'd done it, but I had absolutely no intention of paying him, I didn't believe his name or that he worked for BT. He hung up.</p> <p>Did 1471 & phoned his fictitious 0800 number - not recognised. I phoned the police to let them know , I wasn't the first! It's only just started apparently but it is escalating. Their advice was to let as many people know by word of mouth of this scam. The fact that the phone does go off would probably convince some people it's real, so please let as many friends & family be aware of this.<br>This is good but not that clever. He gave the wrong number - it should have been 0800 800152 which takes you through to BT Business. The cutting off of the line is very simple , he stays on the line with the mute button on and you can't dial out - but he can hear you trying (This is because the person who initiates a call is the one to terminate it). When you stop trying he cuts off and immediately calls back. You could almost be convinced! The sad thing is that it is so simple that it will certainly fool the elderly and vulnerable. The motor car is the weapon of mass destruction supplied to the under 21's as they are too inexperienced and too thick to respect it. The evidence has not been substantive to his conviction and I have grave doubts about his involvement. However as Libya has substancial oil reserves. the West is now lining up to kiss his arse and all is forgotten. Rumour has it that even the Libyans were not involved and that the CIA did it as they wanted to eliminate some of the passengers on that flight. We will never really know the truth.</p> <p><strong>The Scottish </strong>were right to release this man as he has, allegedly, only a few months to live. It was for £240 but AFTER booking at that price, I got a call 30 minutes later to say that the Airline (Thomas Cook Airlines) had increased their flight charge and that they wanted another £60  (£30 each) paid in order to proceed! I was offered to cancel the holiday but was told that if I did, it would take upto 2 weeks before I got a refund! What a fabulous incentive not to cancel and cough up the extra money! <strong>Apart from</strong> getting more than a little angry with this, I then reeled down the 'extras' and I literally exploded when I read that if you wanted to sit together then it was £20 extra each! Blatant money robbing on an unprecedented scale. No wonder Thomas Cook have gone bust and trading under their German owners banner now. I never paid that but got to the Airport really early, ready for a big fight at the check-in desk but had no problems as seats were together! </span><strong><strong><span>The flight</span></strong></strong><span> was as expected, very cramped and as we did not pay the extortionate charge for a mediocre meal on the Aircraft (another con), paid for the headphones (£2.75) and watched 'Marley and Me' movie instead. As the flight left at 9pm within a couple of hours I was fast asleep. The flight was for 4 hours.</span></span> <p><span><span><span><strong>Antalya</strong><strong> </strong><strong>Airport</strong> has not changed one bit since I was last here 4 years ago. You still have to queue up to give them a 'Tourist visa' charge of £10 (Euros, Dollars and Sterling only!) but this time we went through very quickly.</span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><strong>At the onset</strong>, my knowledge of the Turkish language came in very handy as English is still spoken on a very limited basis. The bedroom linen was changed daily and it was clean. But beware….get up early and use the hot water left over from the previous day’s solar heating to have a shower as after it’s gone, it’s cold! The Turkish lads still come and get you cold drinks and food as you lie on your sun lounger relaxing in the hot sun, taking frequent dips into a very warm and clear sea. In July I think it may be a little too hot for most sensitive skins from the UK as its very easy to burn unless you originally protect yourself with factor 35 sun cream! <span> </span>The best months here are September and October as the heat is still strong but not scorching. The prices are mainly displayed in Euros which made me a little angry as the official currency here is Turkish Lire. Why do the Germans always spoil everything for everyone by giving them Euros? He had two policemen up against a wall while we were eating our freshly cooked steaks….what a fabulous cabaret! An Old German gentleman was standing near the front and every time someone gave him money to pass to the driver, he said thank you and put it in his own pocket! After a lot of shouting he eventually coughed up with the gelt and gave it to the driver! A wise move, as Turks are not known to appreciate this particular type of humour!</span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span><span>Get off the Dolmus when you see a bridge and a river and walk down the side street and it will lead you to an open market. He shouted at her for the pin number of her credit card, (she didnt have one) and beat her mercilessly until she passed out. She died 5 years later, still traumatised from the assault after moving away from the area and giving up all her friends and her pet cat.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Baker </strong>was acquitted of the crime because  the defence lawyers argued that a DNA sample connecting him directly to the assault, was inadmissable as it was taken illegally. The incredibly stupid judge, blinded by the accused's 'rights', instructed the Jury to acquit him and keeping the fact hidden that DNA directly put him at the scene. Compelling evidence was hidden from the jury.</span></p> <p><span><strong>In 2005</strong>, the Double Jeopardy rules, where one cant be tried twice for a crime once they have been acquitted of it, was overturned and no longer applies. The Police are complacent in bringing this ruling into force as the cases were 'solved' and opening up old files would only put up the crime rates again. Conveniently, they have  'lost' the file on Wendell baker. but have  'found' the DNA sample taken at the time that proves that Baker committed the crime.</span></p> <p><span><strong>I would</strong> like to see the Defence Lawyers who represented this pile of shit, prosecuted and given prison sentences for their contribution as well as the Judge, who should be 'defrocked' and also thrown into prison for hiding the crucial evidence from the jury that would have been a deciding factor in incarcerating Baker at the time.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Its exactly</strong> these type of decisions that let hundreds of neanderthal,violent thugs loose in our streets today, murdering and destroying the peace of thousands.  There is more injustice in our Courts and more crimes committed in them than in the criminal fraternity, except its 'legal'. They then banged on the window shouting at him. I wonder if the Police just wanted them to disappear as the paperwork would be a waste of time because of their age ?</p> <p><strong>Walked into </strong>the town centre to witness hordes of teenagers hanging about in the front of shops, intimidating elderly shoppers, it looked like a battlefield. Adulthood in our masters country, the USA, is <em>STILL</em> 21. You still need to be 21 to get into any club that serves alcohol. They are lucky.</p> <p><strong>Why are</strong> we sending 18 to 21 year olds to fight in a war when clearly they are not experienced in life or mature enough to think or fend for themselves ?</p> <p><strong>Men and women</strong> who join the Army are in there for a reason....to protect and fight the politicians foibles and mistakes that all of them make. All the Generals and Commanders of these forces are rarely found in the frontline but dictate from comfy armchairs while eating and drinking rich food unavailable to the ones doing all the fighting.</p> <p><strong>Completely inexperienced</strong> politicians, who have probably never ever seen or been in a war are the ones who dictate to the Generals what they want to happen in order to achieve some clandestine reason that is kept under secret wraps that we , the public, are never privy too.<br> The Generals in turn blindly do what they are told, sacrificing lives that mean nothing to them while they wash down gourmet food with an expensive glass of wine. These are the trendy new murderers of our day.<br> Decisions always of course,cleverly disguised as making your life more safe and for democracy.</p> <p><strong>With the</strong> availability of modern weapons, there is no real need to have an army on the ground, fighting old fashioned hand to hand fighting. Pressing A single button could obliterate and destroy any threats within seconds...... and from miles away.</p> <p>In any case, the Taliban only need to switch on the news on their TV's to get an upto date situation of what we are doing and what weaknesses we have at any time, shortage of helicopters etc .....how very helpful for them.</p> <p><strong>We as</strong> a nation do not have the mentality to win any war in Afghanistan, it will turn out to be another Vietnam, as it was for the yanks. Have we forgotten what happened to the Russians ? And they had a formidable force. The enemy is fighting for Allah and not afraid to die as they will go to heaven and have countless virgins for their trouble. What have we to offer our troops ? The answer here lies within the Muslims themselves.<br> They must learn to handle their own problems and stand up to despots and charlatans who use Allah as an excuse to kill and intimidate their own people.<br> <strong><br> We and</strong> the coalition forces have killed thousands, a lot of them innocents caught up in crossfire. I am very surprised at how few casualties that we have had in this senseless war.</p> <p><strong>The Government</strong> there in Afghanistan that WE have installed are just as corrupt as our own politicians. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.</p> <p><strong>Not all </strong>muslims are aggressive and bloodthirsty but we have opened our borders to those that are not welcome in their OWN countries. We have allowed them to build Mosques on practically every high street in Britain and encouraged them to infiltrate every community. As one Mullah just recently said....'I am not worried about England as there are so many of us here now, it will soon be a Muslim country'</p> <p><strong>England is</strong> a ticking timebomb just waiting to explode, and explode it will when we ignore a serious underlying threat that becomes more apparent each day.<br> Most Muslims living here are decent and hardworking individuals, but the aggressive and threatening variety are growing at an alarming pace.<br> As in Afghanistan, the ones here need to sort out their own communities, as we cant.</p> <p><strong>If we</strong> are going to send 18 year olds to the frontline to fight, we should take some of the crap that wanders our streets assaulting old people and knifing and fighting and send them directly there instead of useless Courts who acquit them or treat then leniently which encourages them to go out and do it again.</p> <p><strong>And before</strong> the do-gooders come out from under their protected rocks to criticise what I have written. I have a lot of Muslim friends who agree with me. I have just returned from a Muslim country where I had fantastic hospitality. If Not.....They should pay back every penny to the NHS that it cost to train them before being allowed to treat private patients. And if they dont want to do that...they should not be allowed to practice. And if they want to go abroad with their skill. then again they must pay back the NHS before being allowed to leave the country.</p> <p><strong>Dentists are</strong> said to be failed Doctors who practice on pigs to get their skills. Perhaps they have had it too good in the troughs slopping up all the excess money.
