Its 3am and I have been woken up by a young thug of about 20, 6ft tall beating 2 girls of about the same age outside my flat in the town again! This hasn't happened for at least 3 months now and I thought things were getting better! As I was on the phone to the Police, 4 squad cars turned up and bundled him into one of them.
He was punching and kicking them violently on the ground and they were screaming. I have been warned by the Police NOT to interfere before in these things so I didn't. Just as well.
And guess what......He started crying and calling the girls from the window of the Police car, saying to say he hadn't done anything......and one of them screamed at the Police that he hadn't touched them, despite one of them being still on the ground. One of them was his sister! What the fuck have people become in this country ?
I kept out of it as the Police were there anyway, but I am sure if I had said something, a brick would have been hurled through my window later today. And I would have been under constant attacks thereafter!
Sad that the Government has taken away the right to punish and bring up your own children without fear of reprisals from them complaining about you! My brother is a Policeman and he says that their job is very much hampered by victims saying they were not touched as then they cannot do anything to the attacker.
What sort of cowards are we moulding in society that seems to accept this type of behaviour as the norm ? This is about the ninth time I have witnessed this violence outside my Town Centre flat and of course I expect Alcohol played a big part in it again.
Isn't it time we began to emulate our Masters in the USA and made the legal age to consume alcohol as 21 ? Seems to work over there well so why not here too ?
UPDATE: The Police phoned me this afternoon to say the chap was in a cell all night but they had to let him go as the 2 girls would not press charges. What a surprise! However , they did charge him with public Affray, which means a fine and a record for the time being! Should have beaten him up too like he did the girls!

"Alcohol" was my first thought too when I started reading your post. Sad. Raising the age level won't really help, I think, because the kiddies would still find a way for getting alcohol, and be it stealing. Many American teens have fake IDs too.
No, I think it needs to start with how parents raise their kids, and continue at school. Too late for those guys you described, though!
