I have just been sickened by watching the news on TV about some morons in Birmingham training dogs to fight each other to the death and making money out of it. When they came out of court after being fined, they were laughing their heads off as the fine was only just over a £1000 ! So off they go to do it again then.
These thugs should have been imprisoned or deported straight back to their own countries as they were from an ethnic minority group. Of course not ALL idiots are from ethnic Minority groups and the ones that are English should be treated equally harshly and imprisoned for a long time.
Unfortunately, animal cruelty is on the increase around the world, not just on our shores. I have just read a story from the States ( Atlanta) where a woman called the Police after a Pit Bull terrier killed her cat, Unfortunately for her SHE was fined $1000 for 'failing to control' her cat! Sick!
Another one in the same place ( Atlanta) picked up kittens and then after torturing them , fed them to his pit bull terrier. Thankfully he IS getting a prison sentence.
I think television and the internet is mainly to blame for the ferocious and pitiless behaviour being displayed by the young towards not just animals but to fellow human beings too. But on the other hand, a basic instinct should tell you that its wrong to harm and injure other things that live. The sheer ruthlessness displayed on our streets in violent attacks is an everyday occurrence now and the punishment if caught is not a deterrent anymore. Asbos are proudly paraded as though they are medals of valour and criminals seem to be seen as the victims rather than the perpetrators.
Bring back conscription! 3 years in the Army learning a trade when you leave school will eradicate all the nonsense on our streets.
Any crime that involves extreme violence should attract a 2 year term in the army, direct to one of the battle zones we have throughout the world. let them fight there. Why waste money and resources on Courts and prisons for these types.

Fines for animal cruelty are far too lenient. As are prison sentences.
Animal cruelty is pretty much like child abuse- the abuse of something so helpless to fight back.
It is also proven to lead on to violence against fellow human beings. It is well recognised by criminal psychologists that many killers had an active history of child cruelty, sometimes at a very young age.
I used to own many anilmals, all of them victims of some sort of cruelty or another, which I aquired during my time as a Veterinary Nurse.
It is soul destroying when the best thing you can do for an animal is euthanase it. It used to make me cry when I felt the animal relax as the anaesthetic went in. I swear some were grateful.
As to the pit bull problem, I do believe that the dog has an inherant streak of nastiness. However, I have come across perfectly nice pitbulls. It is the owner that makes a dog nasty, and a viscous person can turn any dog into a fighter. It is just that these people who perceive themselves to be butch go for a certain type of dog, such as a pitbull or staffie.
Yep. send these kids abroad to get the fight out of their system. I totally agree!
